Our client is one of the UK's leading Engineering & Services companies with a turnover approaching £450 million. They are currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee the Mechanical packages on this scheme totalling circa £20 million in value.

This particular scheme is a major secure MOD/defence refurbishment project involving the transformation and upgrade of an existing building to provide modern office/workplace accommodation. The scheme incorporates a significant building-services upgrade, with our client delivering the M&E package. Works are understood to include the refurbishment/replacement of existing mechanical and electrical infrastructure alongside the new office fit-out, within a highly controlled and security-sensitive environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

* Lead the mechanical works from pre-construction/design coordination through installation, commissioning and final handover, ensuring programme, quality and commercial objectives are achieved.

* Manage and coordinate major mechanical services including HVAC, heating and cooling, ventilation, pipework, domestic water, drainage and associated plant/equipment.

* Work closely with the electrical team, design consultants and construction management to ensure fully coordinated M&E installations within the constraints of an existing building.

* Manage specialist subcontractors and supply-chain partners, monitoring performance, productivity, quality, programme and health & safety compliance.

* Review mechanical designs, technical submissions, drawings, specifications and builders' work requirements, identifying design clashes, constructability issues and opportunities for value engineering.

* Maintain responsibility for the mechanical programme, identifying critical-path activities and implementing recovery plans where required to maintain key project milestones.

* Liaise closely with the client, main contractor, consultants and internal project team, chairing progress and coordination meetings and providing clear reporting on programme, cost, risk and delivery.

* Oversee testing, commissioning, witnessing and integration of mechanical systems, ensuring all installations meet the required technical, regulatory and project-specific standards.

* Drive the project through completion, including snagging, commissioning documentation, O&M information, client demonstrations and handover, while maintaining the standards required within a security-sensitive environment.

Package includes:

* Negotiable basic salary up to £120,000

* Car or Car allowance

* Paid Travel to site

* 8% Pension

* Bonus up to 10%

* Private medical & Employee Assistance Programme

* Flexible Rewards (dental, gym, travel insurance)
